چکیده

It is well known that an equilibrium in the Arrow-Debreu model may fail to exist if a very restrictive condition called the survival assumption is not satis ed. We study two approaches that allow for the relaxation of this condition. Danilov and Sotskov (1980), and Florig (1998a) developed a concept of a generalized equilibrium based on a notion of hierarchic prices. Marakulin (1988, 1990) proposed a concept of an equilibrium with non-standard prices. In this paper, we establish the equivalence between non-standard and hierarchic equilibria. Furthermore, we show that the set of non-standard equilibria coincides with the fuzzy rejective core of an economy and is generically nite for any speci ed system of dividends.

Generalized equilibria in an economy without the survival assumption

Irreducibility, Resource Relatedness and Survival in Equilibrium with Individual Non-convexities

Standard results in general equilibrium theory, such as existence and the second efficiency and core equivalence theorems, are most easily proved for compensated equilibria. A new condition establishes that, even with individual non-convexities, in compensated equilibrium any agent with a cheaper feasible net trade is also in uncompensated equilibrium. Some generalizations of McKenzie’s irreduc...

A Bayesian Model of Voting in Juries

We take a game-theoretic approach to the analysis of juries by modelling voting as a game of incomplete information. Rather than the usual assumption of two possible signals (one indicating guilt, the other innocence), we allow jurors to perceive a full spectrum of signals. Given any voting rule requiring a fixed fraction of votes to convict, we characterize the unique symmetric equilibrium of ...

Constraining the Water Activity during Peak Metamorphism in a Thermal Aureole; a Mineral Equilibria Approach

In order to assess the presence or absence of fluids under peak metamorphic conditions within the inner aureole of the Etive igneous complex in west Scotland, eight suitable metabasic hornfels samples and one suitable pelitic hornfels were used to calculate water activities using a mineral equilibria. Calculated activities for water are lower than unity in the pelitic sample and extremely low i...

On Approximate Cores of Non-convex Economies

The existence of approximate equilibria for exchange economies whose agents have non-convex preferences was established by Starr (1969). For a stronger concept of approximate equilibria the existence result was obtained by Hildenbrand, Schmeidler and Zamir (1973) (HSZ hereafter). Moreover, it was shown in HSZ, that the approximation can be made as good as one likes by choosing the number of age...
